Conner Rensch lost half her body weight in just two years, after she ballooned to 123kg from comfort eating.
The 26-year-old, who is now a trainer herself, started to get help when she went to university – enlisting the assistance of a fitness coach and nutritionist in order to slim down.
Taking up kickboxing, cardio and weights, the youngster kicked her junk food habit and started to see results within weeks.
Fast-forward two years, and the formerly obese teen had lost 57kg, and had a new lease on life.
“I see someone who was sad, but had the strength to push themselves through that sadness and find strength.”
“The most powerful thing during weight loss was I realised anything I put my mind to I can do,” she said.
“I am so proud of my scars and stretch marks as they tell my story and how far I’ve come.”
On Monday, Conner took to Instagram to reflect on her journey, writing:
“I have grown into the person I am today, but the biggest turning point for me was when I really thought about my future. What did I want out of life?
“Did I want to keep watching from the side lines, or did I want to live the life I had always dreamed of? I looked myself in the mirror and broke down. I realized that life isn’t about pizza and ice cream.
“It’s about creating memories with family and friends. Life is about loving your body enough to fuel it correctly and healthily. Now my weight is healthy. I don’t focus on the scale, but more about how I feel.”
Isn’t that such an incredibly cool story? Conner, you’re our new hero.
