ZM host Georgia Burt reveals why she threw out her scales

The night show radio host says she never weighs herself.

What do you like to do to relax?

Ideally, if it was sunny I would be sunbathing and reading a good soppy romance book, beach or poolside. But seeing as it’s not sunny for most of the year I love to watch Netflix!

If I could go on holiday tomorrow, I’d want to go to…

Europe. Greece, Croatia, Paris, Rome, the whole shebang because I have never been over that side of the world and it all looks so beautiful and relaxing. Also the food over there looks AMAZING.

The best trip I ever went on…

Bali! I loved it because it was my first ever trip away with my partner and we had the most incredible experiences. Bali is one of those places that makes you leave wishing you had more time. So many activities: snorkelling, sunbathing, the water park and sightseeing. It was the best!

What’s the best piece of health advice you’ve ever been given?

Don’t weigh yourself! When I started getting serious about losing weight I’d jump on the scales every morning. Even though I knew I was getting stronger and eating healthily it would get me down, seeing the number stay the same.

What does an ideal weekend look like for you?

Trying new food places – I am a huge foodie. I try to start both weekend days with exercise, so I can feel good about going out and having a good time.

What’s your favourite way to exercise?

A 90-minute intense circuit session at the gym or HIIT training. I love to come away from exercise sweating and feeling like I’ve put my all into each workout.

I feel most comfortable wearing…

Anything that makes me feel glam. But I do also love just wearing a T-shirt, skinny jeans and chucks.

What books are on your bedside table?

Dr Libby’s Women’s Wellness Wisdom, and Jojo Moyes The Girl You Left Behind. I’m a hopeless romantic.

Do you like to cook – and what’s your favourite meal?

I like to cook but am not the best at it! I mean, I think I’m not bad, but the flatmates may disagree. My favourite meal is fresh fish pan-fried in lemon and pepper, on an orange kumara mash, with fresh green beans and a herb white sauce.
