A man calling himself Dr Daniel Dopps is on a mission to put an end to sanitary products, with a cunning new invention.
Feeling that items such as tampons and sanitary pads are just far too inconvenient for women to be dragging around each month, Dopps has come up with a solution: vagina glue.
‘Mensez’ lipstick glue, that has it’s own website and Facebook page, is applied to the labia minora during periods, causing them to be closed shut, which then holds the menstrual blood inside.
While the glue is “strong enough to retain menstrual fluid,” the glue washes away when the woman goes to pee, Dopps explains.
The doctor – who is a chiropractor in Kansas – adds that a woman should apply the glue “the day before the period starts,” which goes to show he has no clue how surprising that event is every single month.
The full description reads: “Have you ever woken up with your lips stuck together?” the ad reads. “It didn’t hurt and it was kind of fun. All you had to do was wet your lips from the inside with saliva and they became unstuck. Mensez feminine lipstick is a natural patented compound of amino acids and oil in a lipstick applicator that is applied to the lips down under during the period. Urine instantly unsticks the labia and allows everything to wash out into the toilet, wipe and reapply Mensez lipstick. Clean, Safe, Secure and Done. Coming to a store near you soon.”
Here at Women’s Weekly HQ, we’re still slightly suspicious that Dopps is just trolling us. Atter all, if urine will unstick the glue, surely blood would too. But Forbes actually spoke with the Doctor, who confirmed that this is the real deal.
He’s even taken out a patent for the feminine hygiene product, and lists himself as CEO of Mensez Technology on LinkedIn.
The US doctor seems pretty proud of himself for coming up with a “solution” when we women have clearly been too distracted to solve the problem ourselves for all these years.
“Yes, I am a man and you as women should have come up with better solutions than diapers and plugs,” he wrote on Facebook. “But you didn’t.”
