While many celebrities were donning wacky wigs and capes with Halloween celebrations in full swing this week (see our celebrity costumer gallery here), there were also a number of more serious fashion events.
After a sobering month of women speaking out about sexism and sexual abuse in the entertainment industry, it seems there was no better time for a number of events to celebrate and support women, including Harper’s Bazaar’s Women of the Year awards and WSJ’s Innovator Awards. Attendees from Carrie Mulligan to Reese Witherspoon and daughter Ava Phillippe dressed in stylish and sophisticated dresses that mean business.
Meanwhile, the highly-anticipated premiere of Agatha Christie film Murder on the Orient Express provided a much-needed photo call for the leading ladies that have true style staying power in the industry, from Penelope Cruz in a shimmering Temperley London gown to Michelle Pfeiffer in a shiny Prada number.
