Who’s the hottest builder on The Block?

You'll never guess who triumphed over the rest of the tradies!

First there was griller warfare, but it’s no longer pimped-out barbecues on The Block NZ: Villa Wars that are dividing the contestants. Last night, the girls – and the guys – on the hit TV3 show deliberated over who had the hottest builder.

Indeed, with their ripped biceps and rugged charm, the tough tradies at Block HQ are causing quite a stir.

Jamie Johns and Hayden Campbell’s Scottish chippie Martin ‘Marty’ Laidlaw at house number one was a hot contender for the title. “I’d have to say Mr Marty,” gushed yellow team member Cat Glass, “I just love a good accent.” And pint-sized design whizz Sarah Kong agreed, saying, “Bonus points because of his tan.”

Brooke Davies, however, was a little biased. The blonde banker from Christchurch favoured her chief builder Pieter Holwerda over the rest. “Everyone thinks Piet’s good looking. House four is where it’s at with all the babes,” she said.

But it was the most unlikely Block stalwart who came out on top. By unanimous vote (and with hunky Hayden’s seal of approval no less), Peter ‘The Wolf’ Wolfkamp took out the competition.

“He’s the sexiest builder because he’s mature and he knows how to handle things,” Brooke added.

Ever the gracious winner, the stoic site foreman simply responded. “You know what, that’s actually pretty reasonable.”

Way to go, Wolf!
