The sci-fi drama Westworld is up for a whopping 22 nominations for the 2017 Emmy Awards, airing Monday morning at 10am (Aus time). Netflix original series Stranger Things and FX’s Feud: Bette and Joan are up for 18 nominations. HBO’s Big Little Lies and Fargo received 16 nominations each and The Night Of got 13 nods.
Both Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon are nominated for Best Actress in a Limited Series Or A Television Movie for Big Little Lies.
Reese took to social media in July to share her excitement over the show’s nominations.
“Wow! So thrilled about the #Emmys Nominations for #BigLittleLies! The cast and crew worked so hard to make this happen! Thanks to all the fans,” she wrote.
Nicole was also thrilled with the series success.
“It really connected. People really got it,’ Nicole told EW. “It’s just unheard of! It’s a shared victory and a shared joy.”
Other notable mentions include The Handmaids Tale with 13 nominations. Elizabeth Moss was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Ann Dowd and Samira Wiley were also nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Alexis Bledel also received a nod for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series.
