Insiders reveal it’s a “battle of the egos” between Marty Fox and host Shaynna Blaze on this season of The Block Australia, with the pair’s clearly obvious tension leaving viewers, crew and even their fellow judge Darren Palmer feeling extremely uncomfortable during filming.

“Darren doesn’t know where to look when the pair are disagreeing,” commented one fan. “She haaaates him,” another viewer posted, adding that interior designer Shaynna, 61, might feel “threatened” by the real estate agent, 36.

One fan even went so far as to write, “I’m not a massive fan of Marty, but she clearly despises him and does nothing to hide her disdain.” Ouch!

While that may be a little extreme, it’s obvious the pair don’t see eye to eye and Shaynna’s made no secret of the fact she never wanted Marty’s predecessor Neale Whitaker to leave.

‘Design expert Neale, 62, confessed that Shaynna asked him, “Are you breaking up the band?” when he exited in 2023. He added, “The three of us have judged together each season for more than a decade. That’s a long time by any standards.”

It was always going to be hard for anyone to take over. Now we’re told Shaynna, who has been a judge on the hit reno series since 2012, is ready to walk. It even seems some viewers would welcome it.

“Dump Shaynna,” wrote one Block fan. “She doesn’t bring anything I haven’t heard 1000 times before. Keep Marty – an actual practical real estate view is essential. Third judge needs to be an experienced tradie. I want to know about the overall reno quality.”

Another viewer even boldly suggested it seems like host Shaynna now “hates” her gig on the reality show. “She needs to do us all and herself a favour and move on,” they posted online.
