Beloved Australian soap Neighbours has made a return, launching on Prime Video in New Zealand on Monday, 25 September 2023. Just last year, fans were shocked to hear that the long-running series, which launched the careers of household names like Margot Robbie, Kylie Minogue and Russell Crowe, had been given the boot by British broadcaster Channel 5.

What is the plot of the new Neighbours series?
We won’t give away any spoilers, but the storyline picks up two years after the 2022 finale. This was an emotional affair, with Mike confessing his love for Jane, Toadie and Melanie getting married, and Clive heading to Los Angeles.
Does Mischa Barton star in Neighbours?
You heard that right: iconic British-American Mischa Barton, best known for her iconic role in The O.C., is guest-starring on Ramsay Street as Reece, an American newcomer to Erinsborough. So far, we know that Reece is an individual who’s not quite who she appears to be.
“Mischa’s character is dynamic and unpredictable, and will have an instant presence on Ramsay Street. Our loyal viewers are going to love her, locally and abroad”, said Jason Herbison, Neighbours’ executive producer.
