The woman, Kim Howe, was killed when Caitlyn’s Escalade hit her Lexus and pushed her into the path of oncoming traffic, where her car was struck head-on by a Hummer.

Now, investigators are reportedly recommending that a charge of vehicular manslaughter be brought against Caitlyn. If convicted, the 65-year-old could face up to a year in jail.

While the I Am Cait star wasn’t over the speed limit at the time of the accident, a representative for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said she was driving at “an unsafe speed” for the road conditions on that day.

Jessica Steindorff, another woman involved in the crash, could also be facing charges over the tragic incident. Reports state Ms Steindorff’s car slowed down suddenly or stopped, causing Ms Howe to hit her and then Caitlyn to hit Ms Howe.

The crash investigators are due to present their findings to the district attorney by the end of August, and that office will then make the decision on what charges Caitlyn could face.
