The 2018 Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual benefit, the Met Gala, might boast some of Hollywood’s biggest names but nothing can outdo a real-life princess.
And on Monday May 7th, Princess Beatrice gave the red carpet event the royal treatment.
The eighth in line to the British throne stunned in a Grecian goddess-inspired deep purple gown, which featured a cinched-in waist, long sleeves, a high neck with crystal detailing and a floor-skimming hem.

The 29-year-old wore her auburn locks in a half-up style with a sparking headband.
Princess Beatrice’s enormous wide-eyes were her best accessory thanks to bold eyeliner and generous lashings of mascara.
She finished off her Met Gala look with a chic black clutch and metallic heels.
The theme of this year’s Met Gala is Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination and names like George and Amal Clooney, Kate Bosworth and Kris Jenner have been leading the glamour on the red carpet.
Proving you can rock a red carpet without a date, Bea walked the ruby red solo.
Since splitting with her long-time beau Dave Clark in 2016, Princess Beatrice was most recently linked to CEO and fitness guru James Williams after being spotted together in LA.
Of course, the next time we’ll see Princess Beatrice will be with the full cast and crew of the Royal Family for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s May 19th wedding.
The Yorks will take centre stage later in the year for the second Royal Wedding of 2018 when Princess Eugenie weds Jack Brooksbank on October 12th at Windsor Castle.
Meanwhile, Princess Beatrice isn’t the first royal to attend the VIP bash. In 1996, Beatrice’s late aunt Princess Diana attended the Met Gala in a risque lace slip dress by John Galliano for Dior.
Other notable royal attendees from over the years include Queen Rania of Jordan, Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece and Charlotte Casiraghi.
