David Beckham, Ellie Goulding congratulate Duchess Kate

The British stars have welcomed the news of royal baby number two
Duchess Catherine of Cambridge

David, who attended Prince William’s wedding to Kate Middleton in 2011, has praised the expecting couple and dished out some of his own parenting advice.

“William I’ve known for quite a few years and William is…such a great person and such a great dad, and Catherine’s exactly the same, you know, she’s a great mum,” he told ITV News.

“And obviously, with the commitments that they have, you know, to be a great mum and dad is pretty incredible. But they definitely need to get some more sleep before this little one arrives.”

Fellow British celeb Ellie Goulding has also welcomed the news of Prince George’s royal sibling. The singer told Us Weekly she had already sent her congratulations to the couple, as she is friends with Prince Harry.

“I just think its beautiful. They’re an incredible couple and I’m sure they’re incredible parents. I’m just very happy for them,” Ellie gushed.

Duchess Catherine was forced to miss the celebrations, as her acute morning sickness (known as hyperemesis gravidarum) has kept her out of the public eye since her second pregnancy was announced. It also throws into doubt her upcoming tour of Malta, which was to be her first solo visit as a royal.

In a statement provided to Us Weekly, the palace confirmed that Kate’s “attendance on the forthcoming visit to Malta will be kept under review and a decision taken closer to the time”.

If she is unable to make the trip, some sources are speculating Prince William may take her place instead.
