Red, White and Royal Blue is based on the beloved best-selling novel by Casey McQuiston, inspired by the 2016 US Presidential Election and the fascination of the behind-the-scenes lives of audacious, high-profile figures. Not long after its release in 2019, Amazon Studios won the film’s rights and made the New York Times Bestseller into a movie in June.

What is Red, White and Royal Blue about?
The film follows the story of Alex Claremont-Diaz, the First Son of the United States and his ongoing rivalry with English royalty, Prince Henry.
A disastrous and very public altercation at a royal event becomes tabloid fodder, driving a potential wedge in US-British relations at the worst possible time.
Going into damage-control mode, their families and handlers force the pair into a staged friendship, but the two soon realise their feelings for one another and start a secret romantic relationship that they must keep hidden from the public.

The movie’s studded cast stars The Kissing Booth 2 & 3’s Taylor Zakhar Perez as Alex Claremont-Diaz alongside Cinderella and Purple Hearts’ Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Henry.
Other familiar faces and favourites to spot throughout the movie include Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction’s iconic Uma Thurman and writer, actor and comedian Stephen Fry.
