Victoria Beckham’s beauty secret to flawless-looking skin? It’s simple really, just eat more fish.

While the star sees a top LA-based dermatologist for regular skin treatments, she said his best advice to her in order to help her achieve skin perfection was to increase her omega-3s.

In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the 42-year-old revealed her skincare specialist, Dr Harold Lancer – who she swears is incredible – sorted out her skin problems with a specific recommendation: to eat more salmon.

“I used to have really problematic skin and he said to me, ‘You have to eat salmon every single day.’ I said, ‘Really, every day?’ And he said, ‘Yes; breakfast, lunch or dinner, you have to eat it every single day.'”

While it might be a bit hard to imagine eating salmon every single day it’s worth thinking about the benefits to your skin.

Science backs up the theory that salmon and other fatty fish are full of omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins A and C. What this means is that not only is the skins oil production regulated, which boosts hydration, but the skin’s aging process is also delayed which staves of wrinkles.

David and Victoria Beckham celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary this year.

As well, studies have shown there’s also a link between eating a diet rich in fish and vegetables and also significantly reduced acne. Other studies showed it was possible salmon prevented bad skin breakouts all together.

So, if there was ever a reason to keep the fridge stocked up on smoked salmon, we think we might have just found it! Now, science just needs to come up with a reason why cream cheese and bagels are good for you to.
