Rebecca Wright is taking over from Jack Tame as TVNZ's US correspondent.
The talented journalist will move to the States in January to take up the job Tame left when he returned to New Zealand to host Breakfast earlier this year.
Wright, who is mum to one-year-old Scarlett, will be joined by her young family in New York, NZME reports.
"I'm thrilled to be heading to the US at such a fascinating time politically and socially for the country," she said in a statement.
“I can't wait to take Kiwis on a journey into Donald Trump's America and get a first-hand look at how his Presidency is going to shape America, and the rest of the world.”
Wright, who has been a reporter for more than a decade, has previously worked in the Parliamentary Press Gallery, and worked for CNN in Hong Kong.
