Seven Sharp presenter Toni Street has been left livid after her image was used to peddle diet pills.
The popular broadcaster used the news show to clear up any confusion, reiterating that she does not endorse the company and she has never agreed to her image being used by them.
Social media adverts promoting Garcinia Cambogia supplements promise to help users shed unwanted weight, all while using an image of Toni looking slender alongside the article.
“You may have seen my face all over your Facebook feeds endorsing a miracle weight loss cure…In it I say that despite lecturing you all on the importance of diet and exercise I’ve been secretly popping diet pills and my lies have been exposed.
“To be completely clear the whole thing is a fake, a complete and utter scam.”
Toni added that she was angry at being made out to be a liar, and that she didn’t want anyone else buying into the scam.
“Real people are actually losing real money here and I’ve been painted as someone who lies and peddles diet pills.”
