Proving that girl power never dies, the superstar pals reunited during a New Year’s Eve bash in the Maldives, where Mel brought Victoria up on stage to join her for the Spice Girls’ hit ‘2 Become 1’.
As the crowd cheered enthusiastically, the long-time BFFs hugged each other and swayed together in time to the music, belting out the classic tune in a performance captured by audience members.
Mel later posted a photo of the special moment on her Instagram account, writing, “Candle light and soul forever. A wonderful start to 2017 xxx”.
The mini reunion comes after it was announced that their three bandmates Mel B, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell would also be reuniting in honour of the 20th anniversary of the girl band’s debut album.
Sadly, however, Mel C and Victoria will not be a part of the reunion.
“You know Victoria is busy with her great fashion line and Mel C is doing her own album, so they gracefully said, ‘You three go ahead and do it,”” Mel B revealed during an appearance on The Late Late Show with host James Corden.
“We’re girl power. We support each other,” she added.
The new trio have named themselves Spice Girls GEM and launched a website back in July announcing that something very exciting was coming soon.
