Sonny Bill Williams is on the road to recovery, after revealing the surgery on his Achilles was successful.
Posting an update from his hospital bed, Sonny shared an image of him and his bandaged up leg, accompanied with the caption: “Surgery was successful.”
Sonny returned from Rio earlier this week, and looked overjoyed to be reunited with his wife Alana and daughter Imaan.
“It’s good 2 b home” the rugby star posted on Twitter. “Love my 8 months of playing a new game and being coached by Titch! Thanks for everything @nz7s.”

Sonny was injured in the All Blacks opening game against Japan, damaging his Achilles tendon. And after being patched up in Brazil, the 31-year-old flew back to Auckland to undergo surgery on his leg.
The All Black favourite is expected to be out of action for the next six to nine months while his Achilles heals, but Sonny’s taking it all in his stride.
“Down but never out,” he wrote after being knocked from the competition. “Always praise to the most high for blessing me with so much!”
Get better soon, Sonny!
