After teasing us for the past three years, sport stars Shaun Johnson and Kayla Cullen have finally announced their engagement.
Johnson, who plays for the Warriors, and Silver Ferns netballer Cullen, shared the happy news on their Instagram accounts over the weekend.
“The only yes I need,” Johnson exclaimed in the post, which showed the pair snuggled up with a sumptuous indoor picnic.
Cullen shared a similar picture with the heartfelt caption: “Forever with my best friend.”
The genetically blessed pair started out as friends and but went public with the relationship in February 2016.
It’s not the first time Johnson has talked marriage. Back in November 2015 he posted a photo of the pair to Twitter with the caption ‘my future wife.’
On their trip to Hawaii last year, Johnson joked about asking Cullen whether she would choose between an engagement ring or a Jeep Wrangler, to which she replied “What colour Wrangler.”
But it seems there’s no pranking with these latest posts. Friends and family of the pair celebrated with Johnson and Cullen after the announcement and they are said to be already planning their wedding, though more recently, the wedding has been delayed by the league star’s move out of New Zealand to start his new gig with the Cronulla Sharks in Sydney.
