Scarlett Johansson is filming in Wellington this week

Fans of Scarlett Johansson will be pleased to hear the actress is tipped to be in Wellington this week, as she begins shooting scenes for movie Ghost in the Shell.

The 31-year-old will be in the New Zealand capital to film scenes in the city’s CBD, with Victoria Street and Hunter Street being affected by road closures throughout April.

The actress has been in New Zealand since January, bringing her 16-month-old daughter Rose with her. She has apparently been residing in a luxurious apartment in Seatourn since arriving in the country, though she’s mainly been keeping a low profile.

Ghost in the Shell is an adaptation of the Japanese manga and anime series of the same name, and follows a cyborg police office attempting to bring down a computer hacker.

Not due for release until March 2017, Wellingtonians will have to wait a wee while to see their city on the big screen, but in the meantime, perhaps they’ll spot Scarlett hanging at the local café instead.
