Ryan Reynolds escapes hit and run incident in Vancouver

Ryan, 38, was hit by a paparazzo “driving a car through an underground parking garage” last week, according to his rep’s official statement. The actor is currently in Vancouver to film his superhero movie Deadpool.

Thankfully, Ryan was not harmed, but the man involved fled the scene. A 52-year-old resident of the area has since been arrested by police and is in custody in connection with the incident. CBC News reports the man’s car has also been seized.

While the situation could have been much more serious, Ryan – who became a dad for the first time this year – wasn’t afraid to poke fun at the drama on his Twitter. After local reporter Richard Zussman tweeted him asking how he was doing, Ryan responded: “Put Beachcombers back on the air and I’ll call”.

For those not in the know, Beachcombers was a CBC comedy that ran until 1990, and it seems Ryan was quite the fan!
