Robin Williams’ wife and children at odds over star’s estate

The late actor's wife and three children have gone to court to battle over Robin's estate
Robin Williams' family at odds over star's estate

Susan Schneider, Robin’s wife of three years, started the legal proceedings by filing papers in San Francisco Superior Court in December, 2014.

The heart of the dispute seems to centre around personal items such as jewellery, photographs and memorabilia from his career in the entertainment industry. Susan claims some of Robin’s property and effects were taken away without her permission, and has asked for the contents of the home she shared with Robin to be excluded from the part of his estate he gifted to his children Zachary, 31, Zelda, 25, and Cody, 23.

In response, the trio have released a statement through a spokesman saying Susan has added “insult to terrible injury” by forcing the legal battle.

“The insinuation that they or their representatives may have taken anything from the house is both despicable and wholly untrue,” the spokesman said.

“The fact is that they have been barred from what had been their father’s house, and not even the trustees of the Robin Williams Trust have been able to conduct a complete inventory.”

In the court filings, attorneys for Zac, Zelda, and Cody also state the three are “heartbroken” that Susan has “acted against [Robin’s] wishes by challenging the plans he so carefully made for his estate”.
