Despite repeatedly claiming he was going to be “nice”, Ricky spared no one from his quick wit and humorous jabs as he opened the 73rd Golden Globes with a no-holds-barred monologue.

One of his first targets of the night was Caitlyn Jenner, whose public transformation last year took the world by storm.

“I’m going to be nice tonight. I’ve changed,” Ricky told the audience.

“Not as much as Bruce Jenner, now Caitlyn Jenner of course. What a year she’s had, she became a role model [but] she didn’t do a lot for women drivers,” he joked, referring to Caitlyn’s involvement in a Malibu car accident last year which left one woman dead.

He also poked fun at Jennifer Lawrence, who hit headlines recently for speaking up about the issue of equal pay for actors and actresses in Hollywood, wondering aloud how the actress could live on her million-dollar fortune.

Matt Damon also received a few jokes at his expense, with Ricky stating he was “the only person Ben Affleck hasn’t been unfaithful to” and laughing at The Martian’s inclusion in the comedy category.

And of course, Ricky couldn’t resist taking a dig at the Golden Globe Awards itself.

“If you do win tonight, remember that no one cares about the award as much as you do,” he said.
