In a casual Twitter exchange, Ewing, 27, complemented a man, calling him “hot af [hot as f*ck]” to which a follower asked “Did you also just out yourself?”
“I was never in” the actor nonchalantly wrote in response.
Ewing recently wrote an essay for the Huffington Post about his personal experience with body dysmorphia and opened up about the many cosmetic surgery procedures he underwent from the age of 19 to seek a desired look.
“I genuinely believed if I had one procedure I would suddenly look like Brad Pitt,” he noted.
The actor has since been commended for his honesty and bravery about his sexuality and openness towards mental illness by his followers.
“Since reading about your struggles with Body Dysmorphia I now respect you so much! And this coming out response is brilliant :)” a fan wrote.
“You are HAF [hot as f*ck] too man. Inside and out – thank you for bringing this all too the forefront,” another follower tweeted.
