Ex-Spice Girl Mel B is apparently ‘livid’ over Victoria Beckham’s upcoming star-turn on James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke for The Late Late Show.

According to The Daily Mail, Mel (41) is “livid” her ex-bandmate is now reveling in her girl-group roots to promote her fashion career.

A source close to Mel says her fury stems from the fact Victoria seems to be suddenly “embracing” her Spice Girls past after years of trying to distance herself from the band.

“She was desperate for the girls to go on a very lucrative reunion tour to celebrate their music with millions of fans.

“But once Posh pulled out, the idea began to crumble leaving the members of the band who were keen to perform having no choice but to ditch it.”

Reports claim Victoria put the kibosh on any possible reunion by threatening legal action if the group performed any of their hits.

Victoria took to Instagram on Wednesday to reveal a sneak peak of her upcoming appearance on the show’s segment that has in the past featured a bevy of A-listers including Adele, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Bieber and Michelle Obama.

It’s understood Victoria’s appearance on the show further fuelled tensions between the pair, with Mel already unhappy at Victoria’s decision to use Spice Girls’ hits in her advertising campaign for US clothing chain Target.

Aside from being dismayed over Victoria’s behaviour, Mel is also currently going through a tough divorce from her husband Stephen Belafonte.
