Madonna’s tears for ‘lost’ son

The Queen of Pop broke down on stage in Auckland - before leaving fans waiting.

The fallout from Madonna’s bitter custody battle over her 15-year-old son Rocco has marred the superstar’s recent New Zealand tour.

The Queen of Pop left disgruntled fans waiting for 90 minutes on Sunday night, just 24 hours after breaking down on stage.

Madonna’s tears on Saturday night came as she told the crowd at Auckland’s Vector Arena how much she missed her son.

“There is no love stronger than a mother’s for her son,” she said, while dedicating a song to Rocco. “If I talk about him too much I might cry. I hope he hears this somewhere and knows how much I miss him.”

The custody dispute kicked off in December when Rocco left his mother’s Rebel Heart tour to return to London to live with his father Guy Ritchie.

He then defied a court order that demanded he return to his mother’s US home for Christmas, choosing instead to remain with his father and his father’s new wife.

Madonna and Ritchie are still fighting for custody of Rocco in a UK family court.
