Fresh from her stunning turn at the Met Gala in New York earlier this year, Lorde proved she could still enjoy the comforts of home with a road trip to Raglan’s picturesque surf beaches with childhood friend Tim Teesdale.

The pair made their first stop at rocky Manu Bay, where Lorde hung back and watched her pal catch a few waves. Later, they headed to the black sand of Ngarunui Beach, where Tim took a nap on Lorde’s towel while the Kiwi songstress headed into the water.

Wearing a royal blue bikini and with her shorter ‘do tousled by the sea, Lorde looked utterly relaxed as she took advantage of the last of New Zealand’s long summer. On Instagram, she had given fans a sneak peek of their journey with a shot of the gorgeous view from their road trip, captioning it, “God I love where I live”.

Fresh from her stunning turn at the Met Gala in New York earlier this year, Lorde proved she could still enjoy the comforts of home with a road trip to Raglan’s picturesque surf beaches.

The Kiwi songstress brought along childhood friend Tim Teesdale for the trip.

At their first stop at Manu Bay, Lorde wathced from the car for a few hours while her pal surfed up a storm.

Later, the pair headed to the black sand of Ngarunui Beach.

In an Instagram post about the trip, Lorde wrote: “Tim has been my friend since we were 13, he’s a nature wizard and a deep thinker, and he doesn’t talk a lot but pretty much everything he says is a poem.”

The ‘Yellow Flicker Beat’ babe later hit the waves herself, wearing a royal blue bikini.

The singer looked relaxed and carefree as she splashed around in the waves.

Lorde, 19, was not wearing the cast she had been pictured with at the Met Gala earlier this month, which was signed by several celebs.

The Kiwi star soaked up the last of new Zealand’s summer sun with a lengthy dip in the sea.
