Kim Kardashian has now arrived back in New York after enduring a terrifying ordeal in Paris, where she was held up at gunpoint inside her apartment by masked men dressed as police officers.

According to multiple reports, the robbers are thought to have escaped with an estimated £8.7 million (NZD $13.3 million) worth of jewellery, while Kim was left “badly shaken but physically unharmed”.

Kim and her family had been in Paris to attend Fashion Week.

The mum-of-two is said to have left France just a few hours later to fly to New York in a private jet, where she was joined by mum Kris Jenner and husband Kanye West as she re-entered her heavily guarded Manhattan apartment.

It is thought that a group of five men, dressed in police-style jackets, were involved in the Paris robbery on Monday. French police are still searching for the culprits.

“What happened is very unfortunate and those responsible must be severely punished,” French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault told TV5 Monde. “We are fully mobilised to ensure the safety of the French people, as well as all those who visit France, and in particular tourists.”

According to some reports, the men handcuffed the concierge at the building and forced him to show them Kim’s apartment at gunpoint.

Once inside, one man held a gun to Kim’s head while they stole her jewellery, including a new Lorraine Schwartz ring, thought to be gifted from hubby Kanye, that is worth over US $5 million.

The terrified reality star was allegedly duct-taped around her ankles and wrists and placed in the bathtub, where TMZ reports she ‘begged for her life’, saying she had two children at home. The robbers are said to have left Kim bound and gagged in the bathroom while they escaped.

A concerned Kris Jenner arrives at Kim’s New York apartment surrounded by security.

Her security team have been heavily criticised for allowing such a horrifying robbery to take place, but it’s been revealed Kim had sent away her bodyguard shortly before the ordeal.

She reportedly believed she was safe in the apartment, and had sent her main bodyguard Pascal Duvier out to a nightclub with sisters Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner.

And while some social media users have criticised Kim over the attack, even speculating it was faked, others have jumped to her defence – including late night host James Corden.
