Actress Keira Knightley has spoken out about her stalking ordeal, and how she was left “scared every time I go outside.”

The 31-year-old star, who was stalked by Mark Revill, 49, at her home in north London, says Revill caused her “A lot of stress and panic” after he bombarded her with letters and unwelcome visits, loitering outside her home and drawing an arrow in chalk to her door.

Revill also hand delivered music to Keira’s home, which he posted through the letterbox. At times, he also used to “miaow,” through the letterbox, a court heard.

Mark was arrested after he was chased down the street by Keira’s husband, Klaxons singer James Righton.

In a victim impact statement read out in the court in Highbury, the Pirates of the Caribbean actress said her stalker’s actions have had a severe effect on the lives of her and her family.

She explained that along with her husband and infant daughter, they were now planning to move away from the area as a result of the ordeal.

“We have lived here for two years and my family have enjoyed visiting shops and playing in local parks and being close to the heartbeat of London.

“My husband and I had hoped our children’s would go to school here. This man has caused me a lot of stress and panic.

“I am scared every time I go outside. When I return home I have to look behind me concerned, I don’t know who might be in the shadows.

At a previous hearing on the matter Revill admitted he was in love with the actress but had only approached her in an attempt to promote his music.

Revill was given an eight week suspended sentence, and a restraining order banning him from contacting Knightley.

He was also ordered to take part in a mandatory mental health treatment programme for six months.
