In this week’s issue of Woman’s Day, The Bachelor NZ star Jordan Mauger finally opens up about his side of the story. The actor and film buff gets candid about everything from his real feelings for runner-up Nazanin Khanjani to how he feels about winner (and ex-girlfriend) Fleur Verhoeven now.

“There are many elements to this story,” he reveals.

“What the public saw is just a small slice of the whole picture.”

Later, Jordan also appeared on Facebook to take live questions from Kiwi fans about his experience on the show – check out what he had to say here.

Before his controversial stint as the Bachelor aired on Kiwi screens, Jordan told us that he was ready to find someone to share his life with.

“I want to meet that somebody. Someone I can be spontaneous with. Someone I can do the chores with, or go to samba dancing or papier-mâché classes with – whatever!” he said.

“I want to meet that someone who I can’t wait to see tomorrow and if that’s a thought that keeps on going, well, that tomorrow is going to be the next day and the next day and the next day.”

When he began his stint on the second season of The Bachelor NZ, Jordan whittled down a group of 23 women to his eventual top two – Fleur Verhoeven and Nazanin Khanjani.

While the 32-year-old clearly had a spark with controversial contestant Naz, in the end, he said goodbye to the Iranian-born landscaper in favour of bubbly blonde Fleur.

At the last rose ceremony – where Jordan gave Fleur a massive sparkler from Michael Hill in lieu of the traditional rose – it seemed the pair were set to move forward with life after the show.

However, by the time the Women Tell All special aired just one day after the finale, it was clear the cracks were beginning to show.

Shortly afterwards, Fleur went on TV to reveal how Jordan had broken her heart by splitting up with her.

The ensuing media storm saw Jordan go to ground, as the beleaguered Bachelor star faced a barrage of abuse.

However, as he tells Woman’s Day in this week’s issue, there’s two sides to every story.

“What people saw is just a small slice of the whole picture,” he insists.

In this week’s issue, Jordan opens up about everything, from his real feelings for Naz to how the breakup with Fleur really went down.

However, for now, Jordan admits that he’s hanging up his dating boots.

“I’ve had my fill of dates for a lifetime!” he confesses.

“There’s still a space in my life for someone, but I just need time to heal from this.”
