As he was presenting the award for Hollywood Documentary, Johnny stumbled through his speech and seemed to have trouble reading the autocue.
“That’s the weirdest microphone I’ve ever seen in my life,” he started off, causing the audience to break out into laughter.
“I’m not very good at this kind of thing,” he continued, before dropping a few swear words that were quickly bleeped out.
As he continued to read his speech, Johnny swore several more times and appeared to lose track of his sentences, leading many to wonder whether the actor was drunk on-stage.
He acknowledged it was “one of those nights” before getting cut off by some footage from the documentary.
Johnny’s off-kilter appearance at the awards shocked many, especially as he claimed to have been sober for one and a half years in a 2013 interview with Rolling Stone.
