Meet Kiwi gymnastics star Courtney McGregor

Meet the 17-year-old gymnastics star.

“I love being able to do things that other people can’t, like the flips and other cool things,” says 17-year-old artistic gymnast Courtney McGregor.

“My specialty is the vault, but I do the full programme – bars, beam and floor. I’m not a big fan of the beam, though. It’s just so skinny!” she says.

The Kiwi star is part of New Zealand’s Olympic team at the games in Rio this year and has been training for 30 hours a week in preparation for the big event.

“My motivation comes from setting massive goals – you can’t get much bigger than the Olympics! I’m aiming to place in the top 16 for vault.
