Celine Dion is probably used to being involved in other people’s romances.
From her love songs singing out in wedding halls worldwide, to partners asking her to take part in the proposal themselves, she’s pretty much synonymous with everything romance.
And in this love story, it wasn’t just the bride-to-be who got a shock when her boyfriend popped the question.
Backstage at Celine’s residency show in Las Vegas, the hopeful groom got down on one knee to ask his partner to marry him, right in front of Dion.
Making Celine a witness to the whole affair, Nick Janevski knelt down and asked his girlfriend to be his bride, as Dion looked on with her jaw dropped.
Nick apparently spent months planning the proposal, even contacting the songstress’s team to make sure he and his girlfriend would be the last in line to meet her.
Girlfriend Austin McMillan, a lifelong Celine Dion fan, said she was completely surprised by the proposal – as was Celine.
On the image she posted to Instagram, Austin wrote that Celine was pretty much the only person she didn’t mind photobombing her proposal.
“When @celinedion is just as shocked as you are at your PROPOSAL!!!
“There are no words to describe this moment! What I thought was just going to be a special night seeing my favourite performer turned out to be a night filled with so much happiness, surprise & celebration with everyone we love & even ended with donuts and ice cream so idk how it could get better! I get to marry the man of my dreams & grow old with my best friend.”
