Chris Martin pays tribute to David Bowie on Carpool Karaoke

The Coldplay frontman performed a rendition of Bowie's 'Heroes' during his Carpool Karaoke appearance

James Corden brought back his ‘Carpool Karaoke’ segment this week with a special guest: Coldplay’s Chris Martin!

The appearance comes just a few days before the band are due to perform in front of millions of viewers during the coveted half-time slot at this year’s Super Bowl event.

The highly anticipated show is also rumoured to feature cameos from several of music’s biggest stars, including Adele, Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars. Beyonce has already been confirmed to be part of the performance, and Lady Gaga will be taking to the stage before the game to sing the US national anthem.

Chris, 38, joked that he was hitch-hiking his way towards the Super Bowl and begged James for a lift, and the duo proceeded to belt out several of Coldplay’s biggest hits.

Later in the sketch, Chris and James also paid tribute to the late David Bowie with a duet of his song ‘Heroes’.

“Thanks Dave,” Chris said as they finished the song.
