Her driving skills came under fire from Ricky Gervais at the Golden Globes, but it seems Caitlyn Jenner has settled out of court over the Malibu pile-up which left a woman dead.
Caitlyn’s lawyer, Phillip Bosch Jnr, confirmed in a statement that the 66-year-old transgender former Olympic athlete had settled out of court in the civil lawsuit for a “very modest amount.”
The reason, it claimed, was down to the stepchildren of the victim, Kim Howe, having no legal standing to press a case.
A small amount of money changed hands, which was paid by insurance, leaving Caitlyn out of pocket.
The family, who all live out of state, filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Caitlyn in May last year.
The four-car wreck happened on the Pacific Coast Highway when Caitlyn’s car slammed into Miss Howe’s – forcing the 69-year-old’s car into the path of a Hummer, which resulted in her death – and causing a pile up.
After the accident, Caitlyn said in a statement: “My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident.
“It is a devastating tragedy and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible.”
