The gloves were on and the knives were out in My Kitchen Rules pizza challenge at Auckland’s Sky City last Sunday – and the Weekly was lucky enough to be behind the scenes as the top five teams battled it out for a place in the semi-finals.
What you see on television is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to sets- and when you’re holding a challenge on a public street in the middle of Auckland city, things tend to get a bit crazy- and that’s not even taking into account the contestants!
With a crew of dozens, including producers, lighting and sound guys, camera operators and runners darting between the five teams and judges Ben and Gareth, it’s controlled madness.
But amongst the frantic chopping, kneading and baking, the Weekly was able to snap some exclusive shots of the last people’s choice challenge- and let us tell you, those pizzas were very yummy indeed!
