A young woman is sharing her before and after acne photos online to encourage others not to feel ashamed.
Hailey Waite, 17, has a skin condition called cystic acne, which causes her face to flare up and break out into painful red spots.
The brave teenager, who has been left with facial scars due to the cystic acne, has said that she’s not ashamed of it.
In a post on her Instagram Waite encourages her followers to “not lose hope.”
“Only a month and a half difference between these photos,” the post read.
“If you suffer from cystic acne, don’t lose hope!”
In the caption, Waite said that she stopped worrying what others thought about her.
“Honestly as soon as I cut foundation out of my makeup routine and stopped giving a damn what people thought of my appearance and once I started caring more about my overall happiness and wellbeing, it started to improve drastically,” the caption read.
Waite has also credited products which have helped in clearing her skin, such as the Aztec Secret’s Indian healing clay.
Although Waite can thank products for helping clear her acne, she says not allowing herself to get stressed helped the most.
“The main reason why my skin has been clearing up is because I’ve been trying to bring more positivity into my life lately and I don’t allow myself to get overwhelmed with stress like I used to,” the post read.
“I do everything I can to upkeep my skin on the outside but it’s important to take care of your insides as well!”
