TV presenter’s bizarre scar tribute to partner

The popular BBC presenter has revealed the unusual way she showed her love for her partner.

Ellie Harrison has become a household name over in the UK, thanks to her regular appearance on BBC’s Countryfile programme.

But while the TV personality is known for her bubbly presenting style and passion for all things outdoorsy, she’s now opened up about an unusual ritual she performed in tribute to her long term partner, that seems at odds with her wholesome image.

The 39-year-old, who has been with doctor Matt Goodman for 12 years, told The Mail on Sunday that she has had her arm slashed ten times as a message of her love for him.

“It’s called sacrification,” she told the paper. “There are only a few places you can go for it in the whole country.”

“They’re done with a blade.”

The body modification practice involves cutting or burning the skin in order to leave scars in a specific design.

And while Ellie was all for the procedure, she admits that partner Matt was shocked by her decision.

“He said he was conflicted, because I’d hurt myself in this pursuit, but he was obviously really quite emotional.”

The couple, who aren’t married, share three children together, and Ellie says this was her “great offering” to him.

“He’s my beloved and I hope we die together. Not yet. But that’s my wish.”

Ellie has presented Countryfile since 2009.
