Prince William and Prince Harry have never quite shared this amount of their life, up until now.

The boys are publicly celebrating Princess Diana’s legacy in a poignant new documentary, Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy.

The interview, which will air tomorrow, will feature a series of never-seen-before images and footage of the People’s Princess.

The momentous interview includes a series of never before seen photos that have been now been made public by Kensington Palace.

“The Duke and Prince Harry are pleased to share 3 photographs from the personal photo album of the late Diana, Princess of Wales,” they penned.

Diana was pregnant with Harry in this image.

Harry recalls his mum encouraging him to love life and be naughty.

For the first time in this documentary, the princes say they are speaking openly about Diana as a mother.

In the preview of the documentary, the Princes recall their childhood being full of fun and love.

Harry and William both explain the unforseen and ultimately devastating effects her death had on them.

The boy even share the final phone call to them from Paris on the day she died and recall their regret that they didn’t speak to her for longer.

“Arguably, probably it was too raw, up until this point ” Harry confesses in the trailer, adding,”It’s still raw.”

Diana passed away in 1997, following a fatal car accident in Paris.

Harry 32, and William, 35, have never spoken at such lengths about their mother, until now.

William, now a parent himself, explained the unprecedented move.

“Twenty years on Harry and I felt it was an appropriate time to open up a bit more about our mother. We have never spoken so publicly about her and we felt this was the right time to do it,” he said.

While the film shares stunning images from the boys’ childhood – they also touch on what Diana was like as a mother.

The brothers called her a prankster who was “one of the naughtiest parents.”

“Our mother was a total kid, through and through,” Harry mused.

“Whenever someone asks to give me an example, all I can hear is her laugh in my head. It was pure happiness.”

“One of her mottos to me was ‘Be as naughty as you want… Just don’t get caught!'”

Diana famously mused, “Family is the most important thing in the world.”

Undoubtedly a cathartic experience, sharing such intimate memories, William states, “It feels like a good time to remember all the good things about her.”

Looking at one snap, with Di and her eldest, William tells Harry, “Believe it or not we’re both in the photo! You’re in her tummy.”

But it was the 35-year-old’s recollection of an embarrassing moment, that had royal fans smiling.

His mum surprised him with a visit from supermodels Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington and Naomi Campbell.

“I was probably a 12/13 year old boy [at the time]. I went bright red and I didn’t quite know what to say. I sort of fumbled and I’m pretty sure I fell down the stairs.”

“I was completely awe struck.”

Adding, “That was a very funny memory that will live with me forever about her. Loving and embarrassing and being a sort-of-a joker.”

Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy airs on Three on Tuesday, July 25 at 8.30 pm.
