Are you ready for the second royal wedding of the year? We’ve had Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tie the knot in May, and now that the cake has been eaten and the honeymoon is over, it’s time to turn our attention to Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.

Princess Eugenie of York is set to walk down the aisle of St George’s Chapel in Windsor on 12th October 2018, which means that Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s nuptials will fall on a Friday – but don’t bother holding out for a Bank Holiday though, we didn’t get one for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after all.

We all know Princess Eugenie – right? She’s the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew (the Queen and Prince Philip’s third child and second son) and Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York.

Princess Eugenie is the Queen’s sixth grandchild and is now ninth in line to the throne following the birth of Prince Louis in April. She’s just behind her elder sister Princess Beatrice (yes, she of royal wedding hat meme fame), and just ahead of her uncle, the Queen’s youngest son Prince Edward.

Since 2015, she’s worked at Mayfair gallery Hauser & Wirth as an associate director, just a short hop from her new home at Kensington Palace, Ivy Cottage, which she shares with her fiancé Jack.

And speaking of Jack, how much do you know about Princess Eugenie’s husband-to-be?

Time to get better acquainted with these seven things you didn’t know about him ahead of the couple’s big day…

He used to manage a nightclub called Mahiki

Yep, a nightclub called Mahiki in Mayfair, England where Prince Harry and Eugenie’s sister Beatrice used to hang out.

He’s the UK ambassador for George Clooney’s tequila brand

In keeping with the nightlife theme, he represents George Clooney and Rande Gerber’s tequila brand Casamigos.

He really likes Skype

When Eugenie moved to New York for a job in 2013, Skype is how the pair kept in touch – how very modern.

He’s a ‘commoner’

Just like Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, Jack isn’t from a titled family – but some reports say he is descended from the Brooksbank baronets (a title just below baron.)

He reportedly turned down the title of Earl

According to Hello!, Jack Brooksbank was offered the title of Earl but refused it, and Princess Eugenie will change her official title, choosing to be styled as Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie, Mrs Jack Brooksbank.

He skipped university

And went straight from private school in Buckinghamshire straight into a career in hospitality.

He wants to be the next Mr Wetherspoon

Well, he once told the Daily Mail that he dreams of opening a chain of pubs. “It has been my dream since I was 18. I have fond memories of Sunday roasts in pubs with log fires, and it’s something I want to recreate.”
