Much of Europe remains a mystery to me, so on my last trip, I decided to hit some spots I’d never been to before, starting with Budapest.\n\n1. The lowdown\nThis beautiful city, made up of hilly Buda on one side of the River Danube and flat Pest on the other, proved the perfect starting point for a four-girl tour. It has gorgeous buildings, a commanding castle, bridges, glorious monuments, plentiful spas, great shopping, delicious food, and its centre is flat and easy to get around, plus it’s not too expensive. Josie, a friend of a friend, spends a lot of time there and gave me a brilliant rundown on what to do – every one was a winner.
