Hollywood is known for taking inspiration from kooky places, but we’re predicting a TV show based on a Twitter account is a first.
William Shatner has announced that he is set to play a father in a new series based on a Twitter feed ‘S**t my dad says’. The feed, which is written by 29-year-old Justin Halpern, is entirely based on comments made by his outspoken elderly father. Since the account started in 2009, Justin has become an internet phenomenon, with over one million followers and a book deal.
Now the TV networks have come calling. Appropriately, ‘Boston Legal’ star William announced his latest casting on his own Twitter feed. “I’m on CBS this fall. I just heard so I’m passing it on to you!” says William. The comedy series is tentatively titled ‘Bleep my Dad Says’.
