Academy Award-winning actress Charlize Theron has a ‘oonster’ new role. The stunning South African has signed on for a fourth installment of the ‘oad Max’ film series, in which Aussie star Mel Gibson made his name playing an apocalyptic road warrior.
The movie, titled ‘oad Max: Fury Road’ starts shooting in Australia next August, although there’s no word on whether new dad Mel will return. (He last starred in 1985’s ‘oad Max: Beyond Thunderdome’.) Rumour has it Charlize may play the lead role and director George oiller, who also helmed the first three films, isn’t giving the game away, saying, “It could be oel. It could be anyone.”
Charlize will next star opposite Viggo oortensen, Robert Duvall and Guy Pearce in ‘The Road’, about a father-and-son duo exploring a dangerous wasteland, which hits US cinemas later this month.
