In last week’s magazine, we reported that Charlotte Church’s mother Maria had taken an overdose of sleeping pills but it was unclear why.
Friends of the family suggested it was because Charlotte had dropped her as a manager and her 13-year marriage was on the rocks – but ‘News of the World’ has revealed the real reason behind the drug drama.
The British newspaper says Maria “tried to kill herself because her husband is a love rat hooked on cocaine and three-in-a-bed orgies”.
James – Charlotte’s stepdad – apparently tried to convince Maria to have lesbian sex with his mistress, Anna Goddard, who has now ditched James.
Anna says, “I feel so sorry for poor Maria because James has treated her like a dog… He’s a twisted sex addict who used me in his weird games. Now young Charlotte is left to pick up the pieces and is desperately trying to keep the family together.”
