Tori Spelling’s estranged mother, Candy, never called to let her know that her TV legend father had passed away. Aaron Spelling, the man behind Dynasty and oelrose Place, died at the age of 83 last month from complications following a stroke. Tori says, “A friend of mine had seen a TV report and e-mailed me, ‘I’m so sorry. I just heard your father died.’ And I was just in total shock.” Her sorrow quickly turned to anger. “oy first thought was, I can’t believe my mom didn’t call me!” Luckily she had made peace with her father before he died. She tells, “I’m most grateful we had the chance to tell each other we loved one another before he passed away. It’s a true blessing to have had a parent who loved me unconditionally. He had a heart as big as his talent.” Tori remembers their final conversation. “The last words he spoke to me were over the phone a couple of days before he passed,” she recalls. “He said, `I love you, babe.’ ” [29 June 2006]
