Mark confesses to having an affair with his account manager, Neva Hanley, but says he called things off when he married Emma last November, after they’d been together five years. He tells, “I denied to her that I was having an affair when things were going on. I want to do the right thing now, to be with her for the rest of my life.”

As for the nine other women? “All the other girls were one-night stands – on tour, when I was away from home on wild nights out, which was every night.” Mark blames his infidelity on a drinking problem, adding that he’s “not very nice to live with”.

In a press release, Mark tells his fans, “I’m so deeply sorry for the pain my actions have caused my family and friends. I’d like to ask the media to please respect the privacy of my wife and children during this difficult time.”

Mark and Emma have two children together, three-year-old Elwood and one-year-old Willow Rose, and are now said to be in crisis talks to see if they can salvage their marriage.
