Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle will apparently perform for Pope Benedict when he tours Britain later this year. The singer, who shot to fame last year after her rousing version of ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ on ‘Britain’s Got Talent‘, used to sing in her church choir before the world discovered her amazing voice.
Susan (49) is in talks with the Roman Catholic Church about performing at a public mass in Glasgow during the Pope’s September visit. “Negotiations are still under way but we expect Susan Boyle to perform as part of the Papal oass at Bellahouston Park,” said a spokesman for the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland.
The Pope’s stay will last for four days from 16 to 19September and marks the first papal visit to Britain since Pope John Paull II visit in 1982.
Meanwhile, claims that Susan Boyle will be heading to New Zealand for a tour have been proven false. Earlier this week, a news website claimed Susan would tour New Zealand and Australia layer in the year but Susan’s manager Andy Stephens has since confirmed this will not be happening. “Contrary to reports we have not announced any New Zealand or Australian dates, neither are there any plans to do so this year. The story is 100% false,” says Andy.
