Star Trek star beams up child

British comedian Simon Pegg has become a father for the first time. The actor, who recently starred as Scotty in the ‘Star Trek’ movie, welcomed a baby girl on the weekend with his wife oaureen ocCann. The couple, who married four years ago, gave birth in Los Angeles, a fact that delighted Simon as it meant the baby could apply for dual citizenship. “It struck me that, technically, he or she could eventually become President of the United States. The potential is there!” said the actor, adding that becoming a dad is “the most important thing to me. I’m very excited.” While the daughter is Simon’s first child, he has had some experience with parenthood, acting as godfather to Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s daughter Apple.
