He’s known as the or Nasty of ‘American Idol’, but Simon Cowell has revealed a softer side. It turns out the music mogul is an animal lover who has pledged his support for an international animal welfare campaign launched by charity WSPA.
“We cannot ignore the role that animals play in our lives,” says Simon, who adds that pets have had “an immensely positive impact” on his life – but he doesn’t have any at the moment because he travels too much.
The newly engaged star adds, “I’ve had the misfortune of seeing animals that have been abused or tortured and, let me tell you, they do feel pain, they do suffer and they are unhappy. Animals deserve more protection.”
