Actress Salma Hayek was devastated when she was banned from wearing high-heels.

The 45-year-old beauty tore two ligaments in her foot last year and as part of her recovery she had to forgo her beloved stilettos, a wardrobe restriction she struggled with.

“The worst part about [tearing my ligament] is you can’t wear heels. You’ve never been a oexican short woman! This is tragic. I often say, had it not been for high heels, I would still be in Coatzacoalcos with 10 kids!” Salma says.

Salma says doctors are keen for her to undergo surgery to correct her foot, but says she’s too scared to.

“They want me to have surgery but I’m not keen. I don’t like surgery.”
