‘Brothers and Sisters’ star Sally Field has been honoured by her old school for her achievements, with a performing arts centre dedicated to her. Academy Award winner Sally returned to her California high school to speak to children there and urge them to make use of the centre in their education. “I want to say how lucky you are that this beautiful theatre exists for you,” she said. “Use it. Explore not only the world of language, the spoken word and that of storytelling – because that’s what we do up here on this stage, we tell stories – but use it to explore you.” While the actress says she struggled to fit in while at school, she claims the drama programme was the one place she could “truly and absolutely be me, where I lost myself and found me”.
